The Usage And Dosage Of Fertomid 50 Mg

What is Fertomid 50 mg used for?

Women suffering from infertility, and who are unable to conceive due to incorrect functioning of ovaries, use fertomid 50 mg. When the ovaries do not function properly women experience anovulation. In cases where there is no other reason of infertility and the partner is fertile, fertomid 50mg restores the normal functioning of the ovaries. fertomid 50 mg allows an egg to mature and be released (ovulation). The egg can then be fertilised. Women also use Fertomid 50mg tablets to restore their normal menstrual cycle.   Irregular ovulation or amenorrhea occurs due to several causes, including taking oral contraceptives or polycystic ovary syndrome. Fertomid 50mg tablets are also used by men to increase their sperm count (but only at a lower dose of 25mg).

How Does Fertomid Work?

The clomiphene contained in the Fertomid 50mg tablets  is a selective estrogen receptor modulator and binds to the estrogen receptor in the hypothalamus (brain control centre), preventing the negative feedback action of estrogen. When estrogen levels are low in the uterus, the hypothalamus is stimulated to produce gonadotropins. The gonadotropins in turn stimulate the release of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) from the pituitary gland. They are needed for ovulation and work by stimulating the growth and maturation of egg follicles in the ovaries. When the follicle is fully matured it ruptures, releasing the egg, which is ovulation.

The mature ruptured follicle called the corpus luteum also produces the hormone progesterone.  Progesterone helps the endometrium (lining of the uterus) ripen ready for conception. Clomiphene in Fertomid 50mg tablets tricks the body into responding as if estrogen levels are low. This restores the hormonal imbalance and “kick starts” the process leading to ovulation. The action of clomiphene can result in the release of more than one egg at a time (multiple ovulations) which increases the chances for twins.

The Composition Of Fertomid 50mg: Fertomid 50mg tablets contain Clomiphene citrate.
